About Us
We are a nature kindergarten in a beautiful, peaceful mountain valley of Aljezur providing alternative education and daycare for children ages 2-5. Our sustainable property has several gardens for growing food, and a bell tent for daily activities. Some activities include nature adventures, hikes, gardening, yoga, meditation, sound healing, breathwork, Montessori games, and organic cooking.

At Little Lions Nature Kindergarten, we offer a unique blend of alternative education and kindergarten, focusing on fostering creativity, playfulness, and the innate brilliance within each child. Through a diverse range of activities like nature expeditions, yoga, meditation, organic cooking, Montessori games, and sound healing, we aim to ignite a deep connection with nature and nurture essential life skills.
Our mission is to cultivate a generation of Earth stewards by instilling practices of sustainability such as rainwater harvesting, gardening, woodworking, and solar energy utilization. Meet our Caregiver, Patricia
Olá, I’m Patrícia ~ a 49 year old Portuguese native, certified playworker and caregiver with over 25 years experience looking after babies and children. I speak English and Portuguese fluently, and teach in both languages at the kindergarten.
I love guiding play groups, art workshops and acting as a clown at parties and community events.
I also look after children at home, in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.
Hours & Pricing
Hours:
Our kindergarten days are from Monday-Friday from 9:30am-2:30pm. Fridays are beach days when the weather is nice. If your child needs a nap time during the school day, we will make sure to facilitate their nap in a cozy space. We are open year-round, including during the summer months.
Pricing:
The tuition is as follows (does not include lunch):
Daily: 35 Euros per day (the daily “drop-in” rates are significantly higher than the monthly tuition because we encourage long-term students, but we want to offer the option for drop-ins when necessary)
Weekly: 150 Euros per week (30 Euros/day)
Monthly: 500 Euros per month (25 Euros/day; due on the 1st of every month)
We have an initial one-time enrollment fee of 200 Euros for students who enroll monthly.
